Tharsus is delighted to be shortlisted in the Large Organisation of the Year, Employer of the Year and Apprentice / Trainee of the Year categories at the Northumberland Business Awards 2018.
The awards, now in their tenth year, celebrate those businesses that are excelling in their fields and helping to boost the local economy.
The Large Business of the Year award recognises successful companies who stand out from the crowd and offer something that their competitors do not. Tharsus will be competing against George F White, Northumbrian Water, Newcastle Airport, Port of Blyth and Smailes Construction Ltd for the honour.
The Employer of the Year award recognises companies who are considerate of their staff’s welfare, reward loyalty and promote a safe and relaxed working atmosphere. George F White, Coquet Cottages Ltd and Banks Group are all in the running for the award alongside Tharsus.
The Apprentice / Trainee of the Year award recognises a dynamic member of staff with a commitment to their colleagues, a comprehensive knowledge of the business and dedication to the apprenticeship scheme. Tharsus’ Rebecca Henry and Jack Thomas are both up for the award along with Connor Little from our sister company Universal Wolf. They will be competing against apprentices from Amble Pin Cushion, and Smailes Construction.
The winners will be announced at the Northumberland Business Awards ceremony at Linden Hotel, on Thursday 15th February.
The good news comes shortly after Tharsus made the shortlist for two hotly contested categories in the North East Business Awards; the Manufacturing Award and the prestigious Company of the Year Award. These awards are to be settled at a ceremony on the 22 February.
