Shortlisted for two awards at North East Business Awards

The awards, held in association with the North East England Chamber of Commerce, shine a light on large and small companies that are achieving great things and contributing to making the region a great place to live, work and do business. Tharsus has been shortlisted alongside AkzoNobel Ashington and Elfab Limited in the Manufacturer of the Year category and against Merit Holdings and Patrick Parsons for the coveted Company of the Year award.

The purpose of the Manufacturing Award is to recognise and highlight companies that are demonstrating manufacturing excellence for example overcoming manufacturing difficulties, driving technology and productivity development and competing in tough market places.  This is the third time that Tharsus have been recognised for manufacturing excellence at the North East Business Awards, having been crowned the winner in 2017 and a finalist in 2016.

The ‘Company of the Year’ category recognises an outstanding performance by a company in the North East.  Previous winners have been characterised by excellence in their product or service and the achievement of a strong or growing market share in their chosen niche which is reflected in growing profitability. The judges are looking for something special for all to admire and from which we can all learn so Tharsus are extremely proud to be considered in this category.

The awards ceremony, which takes place at the Marriott Hotel, Gosforth Park on Thursday 22nd February will see business people from across a wide spectrum of North East industries come together to celebrate the good work that is happening across the region.  Winners from each of the heats will compete for the overall prizes at Hardwick Hall, near Sedgefield, on April 26.
