Taking place on 12th February 2015, Cleantech Innovate is backed by both the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC), the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and Innovate UK.

Now in its third year, the event showcases growth oriented companies and provides an opportunity to share and discuss the use of Original Equipment Design and Manufacture (OEDM) and its ability to significantly improve the product development process.

North East England-based Tharsus Group is a leading exponent of Original Equipment Design and Manufacture, which is an emerging form of outsourcing partnership and brings together supply chain management, Intellectual Property, product development and manufacture into one process.

The company applies OEDM to its build of complex electro-mechanical and cleantech products for market leaders and emerging businesses bringing new products to market.   It has developed and manufactured products in partnership with its customers ranging from vehicle parts washers and electric car charging points to glass bottle crushers.

Brian Palmer, Chief Executive of Tharsus Group, said: “The cleantech industry is approaching an important stage in its development. Innovative companies are developing theories and concepts, but creating a physical product can be costly and time consuming.

“Using OEDM can help overcome these problems and reduces the complexity of launching a product to market. With our support cleantech companies will be able to produce commercially viable products in much less time.”

Dr Tim Fox, Head of Energy and Environment at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, said: “Cleantech Innovate is a hugely exciting and important event, helping to link up companies working on cutting-edge clean technology with potential investors.

“The UK is very successful at developing new products but companies often struggle to find the financial backing to bring these products to market. I am looking forward to seeing the array of different technologies on display at this year’s event.”
