We’re not the only ones that think we’re special. Tharsus has been shortlisted as a finalist for a prestigious Innovation & Design accolade.
What this means is, rather gloriously, we’ve just bagged ourselves another bottle of bubbly for the Christmas raffle. Perhaps more importantly, it also means that we’ve been given the stamp of approval by the UK’s premier and most rigorous manufacturing assessment and awards programme – The Manufacturer MX Awards.
The awards ceremony, now in its second year, was held in Birmingham on 2nd November to showcase the most dynamic and inventive companies in the industry from all corners of the UK. The Manufacturer MX Awards was formed in 2015 by the amalgamation of two of the industry’s existing awards programmes: The Manufacturer of the Year Awards, run by The Manufacturer, and the Manufacturing Excellence (MX) Awards, run by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).
When shortlisting for their much-coveted Innovation & Design Award, judges select only the most progressive companies as finalists, on the basis of their ability to foster an environment and culture of innovation. Following an in-depth factory site visit on 6th September, judges expressed enthusiasm for the complexity of what we were doing and how. They were especially wowed by our pioneering OEDM business model, which demonstrates our ability to innovate, not just on a single project, but across a diverse range of different products and sectors.
It goes without saying that creating an innovative culture is no easy feat. It can’t be fashioned overnight, nor does it come about by the strength of one person or team. It requires each and every individual’s creativity, hard work and ingeniousness, to create and sustain a culture of innovation. The fact that judges recognised what we believe to be a core tenet of our success means the award is an achievement that we can all be proud of.
You can spot us in The Manufacturer Opus, where we sit proudly alongside fellow finalists McLaren Automotive Ltd, Craftsman Tools Ltd, Drallim Industries Ltd, Electronic Temperature Ltd, Fracino, and winner XAAR.
