Electroluminescent Paper Display Technology

Organic light emitting devices have been around for many years. A unique form of lighting, Electroluminescent Paper (EL), enables the advertiser to produce very slim advertising units (the EL light source is less than 1mm thick).

Although research and development is making EL paper both brighter and more cost effective, light levels remain relatively low in comparison to LED or fluorescent lighting. However, electroluminescent paper display technology has a number of distinct advantages over other light sources, these being:

Very light
No moving parts
A comparatively long half life in comparison to fluorescent lighting.
Low voltage
Produces a very even light distribution
The ability to produce dynamic displays

With these unique advantages, electroluminescent paper is well positioned to satisfy specific applications within the market.

With the ability to cut the electroluminescent paper to individual sizes and wired to a small control unit, posters can be animated by sequencing the individual electroluminescent tiles.
