Tharsus completes last shipment of London Underground media displays for CBS Outdoor

October 2009

This month Tharsus will make a final shipment to complete an order for more than 4000 advertising faces for the London Underground media estate upgrade, undertaken as part of the CBS Beck project.

We believe that this is the largest media order and program of its type in Europe if not the world.

Tharsus will now provide ongoing spares and maintenance support as and when needed over the next 10 years.

Manufacturing Partner Tharsus Group Meets BAE Systems’ Urgent Requirements to Bring British Army Vehicles up to Standard

Manufacturing partner Tharsus Group has successfully completed an urgent requirement for defence giant BAE Systems, bringing its Panther vehicles up to Theatre Entry Standard (TES). Focus Port fire dampers are now directly shipped to customers

Tharsus originally assisted Focus Port in both the design and manufacture of the metal work for their new fire suppression damper product range and for a number of years successfully supplied metal work in kit form ready for full product assembly.

As part of a company re-organisation and cost reduction exercise, the full sheet metal manufacture, assembly and customer order fulfilment was also outsourced to Tharsus. more…

Tharsus wins Investment in Training Award

Tharsus Engineering has just been awarded a converted Investment in Training Award by the South Tyneside Enterprise Partnership (STEP).

The award recognises companies that “demonstrate significant business improvement through the training and development of their workforce”.

Over the past year Tharsus have increased investment in training by over 38%.

Tharsus invests in a Faro Arm

Tharsus Engineering has recently invested in a high accuracy, Platinum Faro Arm Co-ordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).

A measurement precision of 0.013mm and 7-axes availability enables a trained operator to inspect, reverse engineer or perform CAD-to-part-analysis on parts, fixtures and assemblies with previously unheard of accuracy. more…

Tharsus Engineering has acquired the defence fabrication arm of Direct Message.

It will continue to operate the business from its existing premises in Blyth, Northumberland.

Muster station trials at BNFL

October 2007

Tharsus has delivered a robust design solution to Morley Electronics for a Muster Station to be used on BNFL sites.

Morley is an access control specialist, and they required an integrated emergency muster station, for both internal and external applications.

Tharsus delivered a full enclosure and lighting solution including concept sheet metal development and design, prototyping and sheet metal manufacturing. more…
