The McLaren of the North

On the back of data released on April 2nd showing that the manufacturing sector grew for a fourth consecutive month in March, we’re delighted to be able to offer a sneak preview of the new Tharsus Group flexible manufacturing facility.

The new facility adopts similar principles to the McLaren Production Centre, recently opened by Prime Minister David Cameron, locating the design and engineering teams alongside manufacturing and production.

This unified approach encourages team working and ensures that our team of professional engineers can apply their knowledge in real-time to evolve and continuously improve the manufacturing process (and the products we make for our customers).

With virtually no fixed machinery or plant other than airlines and power, the facility will focus on final product assembly, bringing together components and metalwork sourced from our global supply chain and Tharsus’ own sheet metal business.

For Tharsus chief executive Brian Palmer the new facility marks a key milestone in ambitions to lead the way in the manufacture of complex electro-mechanical products, ‘We’re justifiably proud to be building one of the first facilities of its kind in the North of England, and are excited that months of hard work and planning are now coming to fruition.’

‘The start of production at the 31,000 sq ft manufacturing facility will coincide with the forthcoming announcement of a number of key client wins and we’re confident that by adding substantial value for our customers we can be increasingly competitive in the global marketplace.’
